1400 65th Street, Emeryville, CA
235,000 SF

Constructed in phases during the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, this 225,000 SF former heavy industrial building, comprising a full city block, was known as the Grove Valve and Regulator plant facility before Ellis Partners conceived and implemented its dramatic retrofit and repositioning.

Ellis Partners renovated the structure’s historic exterior shell while completely demolishing the interior and implementing an adaptive re-use conversion to a Class A office project with state-of-the art building systems. Further enhancing the appeal of this award-winning project, a 624-stall, four-level parking garage was built inside the building to offer secured parking for the building tenants.

EmeryTech’s dramatic 28-foot ceilings with clearstory windows offer abundant natural light in a creative environment for its wide variety of tenants past and present tenants including the LEED Platinum corporate headquarters of Clif Bar.
